What is The Weirdest Thing in Your Jewellery Box?

Is your jewellery box as messy as mine? I don’t have expensive jewels or anything fancy, in fact, my jewellery box is from IKEA’s office section! Most of my jewellery is ASOS, handmade by moi or sentimental fashion accessories.

So, how do we declutter it? Where do we start? Why not do this along with me?

Go around your home and collect all your jewellery bits and bobs. Find a large surface you can work on.

I used my dining table and placemats to separate each jewellery type… sure!

Don’t freak out! Everything is out, yes it looks messy, but things always look this way before they get better!

Look at all the empty pouches and bags. Some were taking up so much space…

Did you find anything strange like these items in your Jewellery ensemble? The Cure brooch, a cute keyring, TWO tweezers and a USB stick! I would love to see your weird and wonderful finds.

Enjoy sorting through your lovely items and being reunited with things you had forgotten about. Take the opportunity to give it a clean. Jewellery can tarnish and become dull. Our make up, perfume and yes our sweat after a fun night out dancing will affect your jewellery.

After a good clean now it is time to organise….

Earrings - I found these great little plastic storage pods in Carrefour. We can hook the earring wires over the edge to keep them in place. Utilise empty boxes and their lids. Keeping them open will help you to find what you are looking for.

Bracelets - For me these were fairly easy. If we separate them into types… For example - Spiky / Round elasticated / Delicate / Metal with clasp / Favourites.

Necklaces - In my craft room I found an unused plastic storage box. It has a long section in the middle, great for taming long necklaces. Stacking the small storage pod gives you two layers. I used a couple of empty boxes for pendants and brooches

Project Complete!

I am loving how it looks and feels now every time I look open the drawers.
